Spaniard María Vargas has been named the world's best oenologist at the Women's Wine & Spirits Award 2022 in Hong Kong. Vargas is the technical director of the wineries Marqués de Murrieta in the DOCa Rioja and Pazo de Barrantes in the DO Rías Baixas. For her employer Marqués de Murrieta, this is an award that does not come by chance. Vargas has been committed to the highest quality for years. She has made a significant contribution to the international recognition of Spanish top wines.
