The WeinTour in the Alte Kongresshalle in Munich attracted 3,000 wine enthusiasts on 25 and 26 March. They were able to taste more than 800 wines from 80 wineries, chat with producers and buy at bargain prices at the wine and tourism fair of the German Wine Institute (DWI).

The supporting programme again included 20 WineWalks on topics such as "New Kids on the Block", "Pretty Best Companions" or "Sweeter the Glasses Never Sound". The WineWalks were led and moderated by the German wine sovereigns. 19 of the themes are also offered as online tastings, each with four special 50ml tasting bottles, for all wine fans who were unable to attend in person. The packages can be ordered at virtuelle.weintour.net for 9.90 euros plus shipping. There, the online tastings can be booked and accessed from 3 April.

The "Digital Wine Glass" was particularly well received at this event. With a chip in the glass, tasted wines can be stored digitally and the contact details of the wineries can be requested automatically. This means that it is no longer necessary to take notes by hand. On average, each visitor registered four favourite wines, which is a new record for the system.
