The value of Norwegian wine imports increased in 2025 after a decline the previous year. In contrast, the import volume slightly decreased after having grown significantly from 2023 to 2024. The average price of wines imported by Norway rose to 481 euros per hectoliter in 2025 – an increase of over two percent compared to the previous year. This is reported by the Italian online magazine I numeri del vino based on data from the UN Comtrade database.
The value and quantity of wines delivered from Germany to Norway remained stable at a high level. With 181 million euros, French wines accounted for 38.5 percent of the value of all Norwegian wine imports, followed by Italy (118 million euros), Germany (41 million euros), and Spain (35 million euros). The average price for wines from France was 702 euros per hectoliter, almost 70 percent higher than the overall average. This significantly influenced the value development. Italy was Norway's largest wine supplier by volume in 2025 with 27 million liters; this corresponds to 27.6 percent of the import volume. Following were France (25.8 million liters), Germany (10.6 million liters), and Spain (8.3 million liters).
According to the figures, the total value of Norwegian wine imports in 2025 amounted to 470 million euros – in 2024 it was still 461 million euros. From 2021 to 2023, the value was over 480 million euros.
