After a two-year construction and planning phase, the WineBank Group has opened its first location in the USA in Washington. It will operate there under the brand name "wineLAIR Washington", according to a company statement. "Lair" means "hiding place" in English. According to the company, the 500 square metre club with private wine storage compartments is located within walking distance of the White House. It is to become the central meeting point for the wine-loving community of the US capital. Here, members can receive their guests and store their wines in one of the 358 compartments. The interior by interior designer JC Schaub in black and gold with artworks and installations round off the luxurious interior.
In addition to their own wines, members can also choose from the club's international wine list. For this purpose, the wine bank cooperates with the well-known restaurant "Ris", which serves food there. The "wineLAIR" team also plans to offer regular master classes, wine tastings and top-class events.
