The Wine Paris fair recorded over 50,000 visitors from February 10 to 12. This is an increase of 25 percent compared to the previous year. The number of exhibitors even rose by 29 percent to 5,300 companies.
The organizers Vinexposium speak of a "comet-like rise." The Wine Paris will henceforth be the leading fair for the wine and spirits industry. This is a claim that the ProWein in Düsseldorf has held for itself over the past 20 years.
The development of the Wine Paris is indeed impressive: At the first fair in 2019, there were 2,000 exhibitors and 27,600 visitors. The ProWein, which until then was the undisputed leading fair, recorded 60,000 visitors and 6,870 exhibitors at that time. However, these numbers have steadily declined in recent years. In 2024, the Düsseldorf fair counted only 47,000 visitors at its 30th anniversary.
The Wine Paris has particularly distinguished itself through the increasing participation of international players. The share of foreign visitors now stands at 45 percent. The international presence among exhibitors has also increased significantly. Around 1,000 exhibitors came from Italy alone to Paris. But many more wineries from Germany, Austria, and overseas were represented than in previous years.
A detailed fair report on the Wine Paris will follow shortly.
