The wine online shop "Wine in Black" in Berlin, founded in 2011, has been sold. The previous owners, including several venture capital investors, have transferred all shares to the Swedish Viva Group for an unknown price. This is reported by the "Weinwirtschaft".

Founder and managing director Stephan Linden told the "Weinwirtschaft" that he will remain with the company until the middle of the year. Christian Fricke, who joined "Wine in Black" a year ago as co-managing director, will then take over responsibility. The second co-founder Christian Hoya already left last year.

The exit of the venture capitalists, who usually plan their investments with an investment horizon of three to five years, was clear from the beginning, Linden told "Weinwirtschaft". In the past few years, the Viva Group has developed into the largest importer of wine and spirits in Scandinavia and holds a market share of about 25 percent of the Swedish retail monopoly Systembolaget. The company also has branches in other European countries. As far as is known, "Wine in Black" achieved a turnover in the low double-digit million range in the 2017 financial year.
