A charity wine auction in aid of the partial restoration of the Cistercian monastery of Cîteaux in Burgundy raised more than 825,000 euros. Under the patronage of the former managing director of the Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Aubert de Villaine, a Jéroboam La Tâche 2009 by Romanée Conti achieved the highest price of 100,000 euros. The Nebuchadnezzar (15l) of a 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru "Cuvée de l'Abbaye de Cîteaux" produced exclusively for this purpose by 24 top wineries was auctioned off in a live auction at a dinner at the Château du Clos de Vougeot for 55,000 euros.

The only German winery invited was the VDP winery Kloster Eberbach (Rheingau), which with its centuries-old Cistercian tradition is in direct line to the Cîteaux monastery. The 2007 Riesling Methusalem from the Steinberg monopollage fetched 4,375 euros.
