The champagne company Vranken-Pommery Monopole will henceforth operate under the new name Maison Pommery & Associés. With the renaming, the company aims to focus on premium and place the Pommery brand at the center.
Historically, Pommery plays an important role in the history of champagne: In 1874, Madame Pommery developed one of the first brut champagnes, helping to establish the dry style. The new focus on the brand is reflected, among other things, in recent prestige cuvées such as Apanage 1874, which commemorates the 150th anniversary of the brut style, as well as in the Cuvée Louise 2008. Both wines represent a style that is more focused on origin and aging potential.
The renaming is part of the strategic realignment of the portfolio: The company has already separated from Heidsieck & Co Monopole as of January 1, 2026, to concentrate on its core brands and reduce the company's debt.
