The association Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (VDP) will be represented at ProWein in Düsseldorf from March 15 to 17, 2026, with 84 of around 200 members. That is ten more than in 2025, but some of the best-known names are not included. Among them are Franz Keller from Baden, as well as Kesseler and P.J. Kühn (both Rheingau), Schätzel (Rheinhessen), Fürst (Franken), Meyer-Näkel (Ahr), Emrich-Schönleber (Nahe), von Othegraven (Saar), and Bürklin-Wolf (Pfalz).

At the fair, there will be a dedicated organic stand within the VDP joint stand for the first time, where ecologically certified businesses will present their wines and share experiences in organic viticulture.

Konstantin Baum MW will hold two masterclasses for 20 participants each: In the first, he will compare VDP Rieslings with international top Rieslings. In the second event, he will compare VDP Pinot Noir from the same soil type to examine the influence of the soil on the wine. On the topic of "VDP.Sekt.Prestige", Caro Maurer MW will moderate a masterclass on Sunday.

The willingness to participate in the fair has significantly decreased in recent years among Germany's most important winemaker association. In 2014, there were 141 businesses, in 2017 there were still 132, and in 2024, there were 94. At ProWein 2026, the downward trend will reverse for the first time in many years. At Wine Paris this year, 25 VDP wineries presented their wines.
