The Pala Winery from Serdiana in Sardinia is being sold to the Tuscan company Tolaini****. The sale price has not been disclosed. Tolaini has been distributing Pala wines in the American market for 20 years. Therefore, the previous owner of the family winery, Mario Pala, "decided to take this step in full agreement with my wife and children so that Pala can continue to grow as it deserves." Lia Tolaini knows the winery "inside and out, and we appreciate her commitment, dedication, and the love she has always shown for Pala and Sardinia. We are confident that the winery will achieve new and ambitious goals under her leadership." The wine brand Mora&Memo, founded by Mario's daughter Elisabetta Pia in 2011, is also part of the agreement.
Pala produces about 500,000 bottles per year on approximately 100 hectares. Tolaini in Castelnuovo Berardenga in the province of Siena is organically certified. Lia Tolaini Banville runs the 55-hectare winery together with her children Alessandro, Alicia, and Matteo. She is also the managing director of Banville Wine Merchants, which imports and distributes wines, spirits, and beer in several US states as well as Ontario (Canada).
