The Taittinger Champagne House is building its first winery in Great Britain in the southern English town of Chilham (Kent). The company announced that it has now received approval to plan and build the Domaine Evremont. The two-storey operation, including a visitor centre and a view of the vineyards, is to be built on around 1,400 square metres. It is a joint project of Taittinger and its British importer Hatch Mansfield.

Domaine Evremont currently cultivates 28.5 hectares of vineyards with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. They were planted in 2017 on the site of an earlier orchard that Taittinger had purchased in 2015. Taittinger was thus the first champagne house to plant vines in southern England.
