The British star architect Sir Norman Foster is building a new company building with tasting room for the Bordeaux winery Le Dôme in St. Emilion. The owner Jonathan Maltus told the "Decanter" that the world-famous architect himself had drawn the design for the eleven million euro new building project. He envisages a tasting room directly under the approximately 40-metre-wide roof of the circular building, whose window fronts will allow a 360-degree view of the surrounding vineyards. In addition, an open view into the barrel cellar and the wine production is possible from there.

The winery is designed to process grapes from ten hectares of vineyards with a yield of around 32 hectolitres per hectare. At present the farm has 3.2 ha. Wine production is scheduled to start as early as the 2020 harvest, and the tasting zone is scheduled to be ready for the Primeur tastings in April 2021.
