The dispute between ex-couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt over the jointly acquired Château Miraval wine estate in southern France continues. A judge in Los Angeles has now ruled that Pitt must hand over business documents to Jolie's legal team. In 2021, Jolie had sold her share in Château Miraval to Tenute del Mondo, the wine division of the Stoli group. The latter belongs to the Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler. Pitt's lawyers fear that Shefler wants to take control of the successful wine brand. Earlier this year, Hollywood star Pitt had filed a lawsuit against the sale of Jolie's shares, claiming that it was done without his consent and that she had "contributed nothing to the success of the wine brand". Moreover, the best way to preserve the company's million-dollar value for their joint children was for the parents to retain full ownership.
Angelina Jolie is quoted as saying, "Any sensible person would be happy with Stoli [as a partner].... They have top-notch marketing and distribution.".
