Spanish wine exports decreased by 5.4 percent from January to November 2024. At the same time, the industry was able to increase revenue by 22.4 million euros (+0.8%) to around 2.73 billion euros. The average price per liter rose by 2.0 percent. Bottled and cask wines benefited from this. Bottled wines accounted for 82.4 percent of export revenue, while cask wine represented 55.2 percent of export volume.
Additionally, the number of wine companies also developed positively. According to data from the Spanish Statistical Office (INE), there were a total of 3,925 wineries in Spain as of January 1, 2024. This corresponds to an increase of 82 companies (+2.1%) compared to January 2023.
According to the Spanish cross-industry organization for wine (OIVE), the figures show a stable picture of the Spanish wine industry in times of declining wine consumption.
