Heavy hail caused severe damage to vineyards in Lower Austria and Burgenland a few days ago. Thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail damaged agricultural areas on a total of about 7,500 hectares. The municipalities of Leitha, Mödling, Neusiedl am See and Matternburg were affected, for example.
