The Schloss Wachenheim AG sparkling wine group recorded a 3.9 percent increase in sales in the past financial year. Turnover in 2018/2019 was 337.2 million euros, and 324.5 million euros in 2017/2018. With these results, the company was able to "further consolidate its position as one of the most important sparkling and semi-sparkling wine producers in Europe", said Oliver Gloden, spokesman of the board of directors. Schloss Wachenheim currently owns almost 40 sparkling wine brands in Europe, with Faber, Schloss Wachenheim and Nymphenburg being the best-known in Germany. In addition, the VDP traditional estate Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt and the specialist retailer Rindchen's Weinkontor are also owned by the group. But the group is also active in France and Eastern Europe. The operating result for the past fiscal year was Euro 23 million, compared with Euro 23.8 million in the previous year. The increased material and personnel costs are round. According to the balance sheet, the net profit for the year is 16 million euros, compared with 16.4 million euros in the previous year.
Group-wide, the number of bottles sold amounted to 200.7 million. This is about eleven percent less than in the previous fiscal year, when 224.4 million bottles were sold. Despite a "consumer environment marked by uncertainty", Schloss Wachenheim AG is assuming "a generally solid consumer mood" in the current financial year. According to Gloden, the Management Board expects a slight increase in sales and turnover. He cites as reasons the recently acquired Pieroth wine retail chain with 18 specialty stores in Germany and the acquired "Sange de Taur" brand in Romania, which is one of the best-selling brand wines there.
