After almost 22 years as estate director of Schloss Vollrads in Oestrich-Winkel (Rheingau) Dr. Rowald Hepp hands over the responsibility to Ralf Bengel at the end of the year. Since 2018, the two have been jointly managing the business of the historic traditional company. However, Rowald Hepp will continue to be available to Schloss Vollrads as a consultant.
Ralf Bengel studied viticulture and oenology in Geisenheim and, when he moved to Schloss Vollrads, was chief oenologist at the Hessian State Wine Estates Kloster Eberbach for over 15 years. He was responsible for the much-acclaimed new cellar building of the monastery winery in its monopollage Steinberg.
