In a Russian attack on Kyiv, the central warehouse of the Ukrainian wine retail chain "Okwine" and the associated importer Wine Hunters was destroyed on the night of July 2. This was reported by journalist Sergey Panov on the Spanish online portal Hudin. According to the company, rescue services were still on site initially, which is why the exact extent of the damage could not be immediately determined.

Okwine was founded in 2012 and claims to be one of the largest specialized wine retail chains in Ukraine. The company operates more than 140 branches in 32 cities and offers a range of over 4,000 items. The corporate group also includes the Okwine School, which trains professionals from the wine industry as well as its own employees. Wine Hunters acts as the importer and distributor for the chain.

According to Sergey Panov, this is not the first attack on the company's facilities. In December 2025, an Okwine branch in Zhytomyr was reportedly damaged by a Russian attack. The author also referred to former Okwine sommelier Pavel Gumenyuk, who joined the Ukrainian armed forces after the start of the Russian invasion and was killed in 2023 while defending Bakhmut.

In February 2023, the company established a non-profit foundation to support military personnel, volunteers, and the families of fallen comrades.
