The former "Take That" star and successful English pop singer Robbie Williams as a solo artist has secured the trademark rights for wines, alcopops and spirits under the name "Rude Rise". The name is a reference to "Rudebox", one of his biggest hits. By his own admission, Williams has been living alcohol-free for 20 years, having been treated several times in rehab clinics. In an interview he said "I've been a sober person most of my life".
Robbie Williams is not the first pop star to launch his own line of wine. His former Take that bandmate Gary Barlow managed to sell half a million bottles of wine in no time - and Australian Kylie Minogue lends her name to one of Britain's most successful wine lines.
