The Remy Cointreau spirituous beverages group has taken over the champagne house J. de Telmont Champagne in Damery. The contract was already signed on 16 October, according to local media. The purchase price is not known. This is the Group's second attempt to gain a foothold in Champagne: Ten years ago, the Group sold the then owned Charles Heidsieck and Piper Heidsieck businesses.

The current plant manager Bertrand Lhopital, who belongs to the founding family, will continue the work during the transition period, it is said. The Remy Cointreau managers appointed Ludovic du Plessis as the new manager. As Executive Director, he had headed the cognac brand Louis XIII for six years. He wants to make the brand known internationally and at the same time drive forward the conversion to organic cultivation.
