The world's largest organic cava producer, Raventós Codorníu, has announced that it will farm its entire 3,750 hectares of vineyards in Spain, Argentina and California 100 per cent organically by 2024. The vineyards are currently managed by 15 farms, of which about half are currently certified.
Bodegas Mont-Ferrant, Raventós d'Alella, Scala Dei, Poblet, Portal del Montsant, Legaris and Bodegas Bilbaínas are in the conversion phase, according to the company. Already by the end of 2022, 88 percent of the total area should have received the certification.
According to the statement, Raventós Codorníu currently sells 4.77 million bottles a year, representing 35 per cent of the world market of organic cava.
