The warehouse of the Prosecco producer Bottega in Kyiv was hit by a Russian drone at the end of December. A subsequent fire destroyed the building, which also contained thousands of food items. "With damages of over nine million euros, the bombing has forced our client's entire business to its knees and brought death and destruction," said the company's president Sandro Bottega to the local newspaper Corriere del Veneto. Bottega announced that his company would donate 10,000 euros to the Ukrainian company. Although he admitted that this amount was only a "drop in the bucket," he wanted to show solidarity.

On the labels of Bottega, a text will also be printed starting in 2025, in which the company expresses its support for democracy and freedom. "A company has the duty to stay away from politics, but it must not remain silent in light of this development," he added. "For this reason, we have decided to indicate on all our wine and spirits labels that we support democracy and reject war and dictatorial regimes," Bottega continued.

The Treviso-based company is a significant international player in the wine and spirits industry and exports to 155 countries.
