The association of family-run wineries, Primum Familiae Vini, have launched an annual competition called "PFV Prize", which awards 100,000 euros for intergenerational sustainability in family businesses. The prize-winning companies should demonstrate excellence in sustainability, innovation, craftsmanship and the successful passing on of responsibility and commitment from one generation to the next. The Chairman of Primum Familiae Vini, Marc Perrin of Château de Beaucastel, stated that "Family businesses should reflect the core values of social responsibility and the human face of free enterprise in an era of globalisation and oppressive uniformity".

From 1 July to 30 October 2020, wineries and family businesses from other sectors can apply on the association's website. Primum Familiae Vini intends to present the best five applicants to the public in January 2021. From them the jury, composed of the owners of top European wineries, will choose the winner.
