Pfalzwein e.V. has selected the 20 best young winegrowers of the wine-growing region, who will appear throughout Germany in the next twelve months as brand ambassadors under the name "Die Junge Pfalz".
The blind tasting and selection of the "Young Palatinate" was carried out by a jury under the direction of Peer F. Holm, the president of the Sommelier Union Germany, . Paula Redes Sidore, the owner of the wine shop Stephanie Döring, Sebastian Bordthäuser, the head sommelier Maximilian Wilm from Hamburg, Thorsten Kiss, head of the wine department at Rewe and Antonios Askitis tasted with him.
This year for the first time the organizers dispensed with a ranking list, as the 20 selected winegrowers worked "at eye level".
The new "Junge Pfalz" in 2020 will be made up of these winegrowers:
