The Palatinate wineries Jülg in Schweigen-Rechtenbach and Odinstal in Wachenheim are now members of the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP). This was decided by the members of the VDP Pfalz at their meeting a few days ago. "After both wineries clearly stood out in blind tastings as well as in company observations, it was the logical consequence for us to admit the two wineries to the VDP," commented Hansjörg Rebholz, VDP chairman for the Palatinate, on the admissions.

The winery of Werner and Johannes Jülg is located in Schweigen-Rechtenbach in Southern Palatinate near the German-French border and was founded in 1961. The two winemakers are already the third generation to cultivate around 25 hectares of vineyards, half of which are in France and the other half in Germany.

The Odinstal vineyard of the Hensel family high above Wachenheim has five hectares of vineyards. They are farmed biodynamically by farm manager Andreas Schumann and his team in the Odinstal monopollage. The farm focuses exclusively on white grape varieties: Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois as well as Gewürztraminer characterise the winery's collection.
