The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) has agreed on a close cooperation with five leading wine trade groups. Viña Concha y Toro (Chile), Moët-Hennessy (France), Sogrape (Portugal), Familia Torres (Spain) and Yalumba Family Winemakers (Australia) will support the scientific and technical work of the organisation. This consortium will also propose topics for the OIV's research grants. Promoting and guiding scientific research and experimentation is one of the OIV's main tasks. This includes, among other things, conditions of viticultural production, oenological practices, definition and description of products, labelling and conditions of sale, methods of analysis and evaluation of wines and sparkling wines, and protection of geographical indications.
