From 3 to 5 September at Schloss Grafenegg, the 64 traditional Austrian wineries will be showing around 200 wines from 81 first sites of the 2018 vintage as well as the Carnuntum red wines of 2017 to the trade public for the first time. The ÖTW is expecting sommeliers, restaurateurs, traders and journalists from all over the world. They can judge the wines at pre-booked silent tastings, each lasting four hours.

The Association of Austrian Traditional Wine Estates was founded in 1992 by the Kamptal winegrower Willi Bründlmayer and some allies. The aim of the association was to classify the vineyard sites in the Traisental, Kremstal, Kamptal and Wagram. In 2010, the ÖTW published the first Erste Lagen. Since then, the process has continued every year. The regions Wien and Carnuntum joined in 2018. Currently, a total of 81 vineyards are classified as Erste Lagen. The 200 wines from there come from 64 member wineries.
