Film director Nicolas Vanier begins shooting his comedy "Champagne" during the month of May. The adventurer, writer and filmmaker is known for his films "The Last Trapper", "The Boy and the Wolf", "Belle & Sebastian" and "The Boy and the Wild Geese". In "Champagne" he tells the story of a winemaker whose old boyfriend invites her to a bachelor party. But when the now doubtful bride arrives unexpectedly, a lot of turbulence ensues.
Vanier first got to know the region in 2017 and was surprised by the "unpretentious people, even in the big Champagne houses, who have a close connection with the land and an incredible passion for what they do. These passionate winemakers, both men and women, inspired me to make this film". Filming will take place in Epernay, Reims and Villers-Allerand. The comedy is scheduled for release in France in 2022. It is not yet known in which other countries the film will be released.
