Several European wine-growing regions have announced cross-border cooperations. For example, Provence in southern France and Valtènesi near Brescia in Italy are launching a joint EU campaign to promote rosé wines with a guarantee of origin. The focus of the actions co-financed by the EU, such as master classes and increased digital presence, is on educational work around the EU label PDO (protected designation of origin). This campaign will run for three years in three of the most important markets - Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Hungary and Burgenland have also agreed on cross-border cooperation, as the Austrian trade magazine "Der Winzer" reports. A joint marketing campaign at the European level is intended to meet the increased demand for Blaufränkisch wines. The drought around Lake Neusiedl on the common border is also a topic. Winegrowers from both countries expressly welcome the plans for a water endowment for the area from the Moson Danube, a branch of the Danube in Hungary. In addition, cross-border projects in the fields of viticulture, wine marketing and wine tourism are being developed and submitted to the EU for funding.
