The Langlois house from Saumur on the Loire is releasing the most expensive Crémant in history to celebrate its 140th anniversary. The Cadence 140 ans costs 220 Euros per magnum bottle, according to the French magazine Vitisphere. Even more expensive when calculated per liter is the Crémant de Limoux Aigle Impérial by Gérard Bertrand, which is available for 149 Euros per 0.75-liter bottle.
The Langlois Cadence 140 ans Extra Brut was vinified in 2004 from Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Franc and aged for 20 years on the lees. It was disgorged in February 2025. Each of the magnum bottles is delivered with a drawing and a text document by the artist Anne-Dorothée Schulz. Langlois is a subsidiary of the Champagne house Bollinger and pursues a premiumization strategy. In France, the house focuses on specialty retail and gastronomy. In 2024, the company achieved a revenue of 13 million Euros, 80 percent of which was from exports.
