Moët Hennessy has taken a 50 per cent stake in the Armand de Brignac champagne brand owned by American hip-hop star Jay-Z. This was announced by the subsidiary of the French luxury group LVMH. The parties involved did not give any information about the financial details. Armand de Brignac is produced and sold in Champagne by the French champagne house Cattier together with the New York-based beverage brand developer Sovereign Brands. Jay-Z joined the label in 2006 and took over the brand rights in 2014. The champagne with the ace of spades logo has become known, for example, in hip-hop lyrics under the name "Ace of Spades".

The champagne is produced from Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards.
