Rotkäppchen-Mumm, which claims to be Germany's leading supplier of sparkling wine, wine and spirits, made 1.2 billion euros in sales last year. Thus, the turnover is at the level of 2021. The company from Freyburg (Saale-Unstrut) nevertheless describes the balance as "mixed".

"In 2022, we were confronted with unprecedented cost increases in all areas of the company. Although we were able to maintain the sales level of the previous year with our strong brands, we did so under very challenging and volatile conditions," " Christof Queisser (pictured), CEO of Rotkäppchen Mumm, commented on the figures.

The massive increase in costs had hit Rotkäppchen-Mumm quickly and hard, especially due to the use of energy-intensive glass. Although the sales prices were adjusted, they could only absorb part of the cost increases. Christof Queisser also sees the current year as a challenge for the industry and consumers: "We must not forget that many of last year's effects will become firmly entrenched and are not yet fully reflected in the current prices. We will all have to adjust to a new, sustainably higher price level."

Rotkäppchen-Mumm's top-selling brands include Rotkäppchen, Mumm, Geldermann, Ruggeri Prosecco DOCG, Doppio Passo and Echter Nordhäuser.
