Millésime Bio opens its doors in Montpellier from today until 2 March 2022. The world's largest organic wine fair expects 1,450 exhibitors and about 6,000 wine professionals, traders and restaurateurs from 20 nations. 400 exhibitors are taking part for the first time, the fair organisers report. However, Millésime Bio is not only specialised in organic wine. Beer, cider, gin, rum, whisky, cognac, vodka, liqueurs and other spirits from organic production will also be on show.

According to the French industry association SudVinBio, the consumption of organic wine in France increased by an average of 13 per cent per year between 2013 and 2020, although in 2020 it was significantly lower than in previous years. A recently published European study by the market research institute Ipsos also shows that 29 percent of respondents in France, Germany and the UK now buy organic wine at least once a year.
