The Michelin Guide has published its new star ratings for Germany. A total of 341 restaurants have been awarded stars, including twelve with the highest rating of three stars. New in this highest category are Herlin in Hamburg and Tohru in the Schreiberei in Munich.

Marie-Helen Krebs from the restaurant Ikigai in the Hotel Castle Elmau has been honored with the Sommelier Award. The daughter of a winemaker has been the head sommelier there since 2007. In April, she already received a special award for the "Outstanding Wine Concept" of the VDP. In the Michelin Guide's commendation, it states: "In a very sympathetic way, she combines warmth and casual ease with remarkable expertise. She is always present, but never intrusive, and she responds to questions with empathy." The award is sponsored by the Champagne house Perrier-Jouët.
