The Institute of Masters of Wine will convene for its 10th International Symposium in Wiesbaden from 29 June to 2 July 2023. The event will be hosted by the German Wine Institute (DWI), the city of Wiesbaden and the state of Hesse. According to a press release, the DWI will involve the 13 growing regions as well as the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP) in the planning. The German MW Caro Maurer is also to contribute with a team to organise the event at the highest level.

The symposium usually takes place every four years, the last time the Masters of Wine met was in Spain in 2018. The event planned for 2022 in Australia had to be postponed due to the pandemic.

"I am firmly convinced that this globally esteemed wine nation with all its history and wonderful top wines will be the perfect location for a world-class symposium that will address the most important topics and trends in the global wine trade in 2023," IMW Chairman Neil Hadley expressed.
