German restaurateurs record massive sales losses in October. Sales in the hospitality industry slumped 31 percent this month compared to October last year, according to the Federal Statistical Office. Sales in the hospitality sector fell 11.4 percent in price-adjusted terms in October 2020 compared with September 2020, according to the figures. The calendar- and seasonally-adjusted figure was also 32.4 percent lower than in February 2020, which was the last month before the outbreak of the covid pandemic in Germany.
