Wine and pleasure events from the Swiss border to Tauberfranken

From the end of April to the beginning of June, the Baden Wine Route celebrates spring: 99 events on the theme of wine and enjoyment together form the "MaiWein'22" campaign, which shows the Baden wine regions around the Black Forest from its most beautiful side.

In the four categories WineDiscover, WineExperience, WineCelebrate and WineHiking, pleasure and nature lovers as well as active holidaymakers will find just the right thing for their taste - whether it's eventful bike tours and hikes through the impressive landscape, cosy wine tastings on the train or in the bus, secluded picnics or exciting treasure hunts in the vines or atmospheric wine festivals and music events. One highlight, among others, is the "10th Glottertäler Rebhisli Tour", a hiking tour that leads to eight winegrowers' huts in the vineyards.

"The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping and nature is awakening to new life. The merry month of May not only offers plenty of occasion for all kinds of events, but also stands for the start of the wine year," Anna Maria Freitag from the Badische Weinstraße working group explains the concept. "In March and April, a large part of the wine that was harvested the year before is bottled. We now get to taste these spring wines in May at a wide variety of encounters."

More than 300 wineries, winegrowers' cooperatives and excellent vinotheques lie along the route, and the Baden wine regions of Taubertal, Badische Bergstrasse, Kraichgau, Ortenau, Breisgau, Kaiserstuhl, Tuniberg and Markgräflerland entice visitors with picturesque winegrowers' villages and old half-timbered houses, stately farmsteads and modern winegrowing architecture. "The Baden Wine Route is thus the ideal destination for all wine lovers who want to experience and enjoy the diversity of Baden beyond the wine glass," says Anna Maria Freitag.

All offers in the wine experience month "MaiWein'22" are compiled on www.mai-wein-baden.de.
