The renowned Burgundy winery Maison Alex Gambal is taken over by the wine company Boisset. The Beaune winery works 12 hectares of vineyards with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the prestigious sites of Bâtard-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères, Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroie, Beaune Montagne St.-Désiré, Nuits-St.-Georges Clos des Argillières, Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Grands Picotins, Pommard and Volnay. The estate was founded in 1997 by the American Alex Gambal, who came to France in 1993. It produces about 6,000 boxes per year and has been working biodynamically for many years.

The company of the Boisset family includes vineyards with a total of almost 730 ha in Burgundy, the Rhône, Jura and Beaujolais and California. The most important Burgundy estate is the Domaine de la Vougeraie. The estate also includes Jean-Claude Boisset, J. Moreau & Fils, Labouré-Roi, Bouchard-Aîné & Fils, Mommessin and Antonin Rodet.

The reason for the acquisition and the purchase price are not known. The company and its work will continue as before. Alex Gambal will assume a role as a member of the Supervisory Board.
