The champagne house Louis Roederer has completed the acquisition of the renowned Domaine Pierre Damoy in Burgundy. As the company announced, the transaction was finalized on July 24, 2026. Neither Roederer nor the Damoy family disclosed an official purchase price. According to information from the news agency AFP close to the transaction, the price is said to be around 300 million euros. Previously, industry experts had estimated the value of the estate at 300 to 500 million euros. Calculations from the trade magazine Bourgogne Aujourd’hui even suggested a theoretical land value of nearly 400 million euros. However, these are estimates of the ownership value – not the actual purchase price paid.

With the acquisition, Roederer secures one of the most prestigious estates in the Côte de Nuits, which, according to the company, "is to preserve its identity and independence." The Domaine includes nearly eight hectares of Grand Cru sites in Gevrey-Chambertin, including about 5.36 hectares of Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, making Damoy the largest owner of this top site. Additionally, there are areas in Chapelle-Chambertin and Chambertin, as well as the 1.45-hectare monopoly vineyard Clos Tamisot and other parcels.

Roederer particularly emphasizes the old vines and the exceptionally large genetic diversity of the vineyards. The acquisition is part of the long-term strategy to bring together outstanding estates in the most significant terroirs of Europe under the roof of the Roederer Collection. This is the first purchase of the champagne house in Burgundy.
