The wines from the Loire achieved the best export figures in 2025 since the year 2000. Thus, the region is developing against the general trend, as French wine exports overall decreased.

According to a press release, the export volume of Loire wines increased by 4.3 percent compared to the previous year to 410,000 hectoliters. The export value amounted to 210 million euros – that is 4.9 percent more than the previous year. In the last 15 years, the bottle price for Loire wines has more than doubled.

Germany remains the most important export market for Loire wines, accounting for 22 percent of the volume and 19 percent of the value. The export value grew by ten percent, and the export volume increased by 4.6 percent. Over 90 percent of the wines exported to Germany were Crémant de Loire, followed by dry white wines with six percent.

Other important foreign markets for Loire wines are the USA, the UK, Canada, and Belgium.
