Seven owners of plots in the world-famous Chardonnay vineyard Le Montrachet jointly produced a cuvée of their harvests in the site in 2016. Now the wine, which comes from renowned estates such as Romanée-Conti, Leflaive and Comtes Lafon, was sold for 5,550 euros per bottle. They are all listed on the label of the 683 bottles.

The reason for the collaboration in the 2016 vintage was the heavy frost, the heaviest in decades according to the winegrowers. None of the estates had enough grapes to be able to market the wine from it alone. So they decided to vinify the grapes together. At Domaine Leflaive, the wine matured for 18 months in one new and one used barrique. The wine's customers are supposed to remain anonymous. But not all of them have been sold: 16 bottles are to be auctioned off for charity, 100 bottles remain the property of the domains.

The almost eight hectares of land at Le Montrachet belong to a total of 17 owners.
