The wine trading house Joseph Drouhin has acquired around 22 hectares of new vineyards in Burgundy and the Beaujolais. The house now owns almost 100 hectares of its own vineyards from Chablis in the north to Mâconnais in the south, spread over 60 appellations. Among them are fourteen Grands Crus and twenty Premiers Crus.

The family business bought 7.5 hectares in the Saint-Véran appellation and 4.5 hectares in Beaujolais from Château de Chasselas (pictured) in the south of Burgundy. Joseph Drouhin already vinified part of the grapes from this estate. Part of the vineyard is planted with Chasselas. The 14th century building of the Château de Chasselas was acquired by the Millésime hotel group. The plots in Saint-Véran are being converted to organic farming.

Near Beaune, the Drouhin family secured 10.6 hectares of Domaine Rapet, including 8.6 hectares in the AOC Saint-Romain, one hectare in Meursault and Pommard, and another hectare in Auxey-Duresses planted with white and red vines. Domaine Rapet has also sold its grapes to Joseph Drouhin before. Nothing has become known about the purchase prices of the vineyards.
