The Italian fashion dynasty Ferragamo is selling its Brunello winery Castiglion del Bosco in the Val d'Orcia in Tuscany. The estate comprises about 2,000 hectares, a luxury hotel, an 18-hole golf course, a small village with a church and 62 hectares of vineyards. Castiglion del Bosco has been owned by Massimo Ferragamo and his wife Chiara since 2003 and was a founding member of the consortium for Brunello di Montalcino in 1967. Around 250,000 bottles are produced per year. The only thing known about the buyer is that it is a "significant international family office". The purchase price is estimated at 400 million euros. Massimo Ferragamo, however, will remain the owner of the Tenuta Prima Pietra wine estate near Riparbella, Bolgheri, where a cuvée of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot is produced.
