The 23-year-old Inga Storck from Einselthum in Zellertal has been chosen as the 79th Palatinate Wine Queen. She is studying viticulture and oenology in the dual course of studies in Neustadt. Eight applicants had put themselves forward for the election, more than ever before since 1982.

The decision between Inga Storck and Nina Oberhofer from Edenkoben was only made in a run-off vote. Storck convinced the expert jury with her answers in the expert survey on topics such as climate change and its effects on viticulture and the differences between conventional and organic viticulture. In the evening event, she made a very relaxed appearance, for example when describing the Dornfelder.

For Klaus Schneider, the first chairman of the Pfalzweinwerbung, the number of female candidates shows how attractive the office of Wine Queen is. In the Palatinate, the rule so far is that all candidates who are not elected queen are automatically appointed wine princess. Therefore, this year seven princesses will share the upcoming appearance dates.
