The German Wine Institute (DWI) has published a list of where ice wines have been harvested so far. So far, vintners have harvested the noble sweet speciality in ten German wine-growing regions:

Ahr
Peter Kriechel *** harvested frozen grapes in the "Bachemer Wingert" for the first time since 2001.

Franconia
Christian Reiss from Würzburg harvested Silvaner grapes with 205° Öchsle, while the Martin Göbel vineyard in Randersacker brought in Spätburgunder.

Hessian Bergstrasse
The Bergsträßer Winzer eG ** brought grapes of the Piwi variety Souvignier Gris from the "Heppenheimer Stemmler" vineyard deep-frozen into the cellar.

Moselle
Here, the Markus Molitor winery and the organic winegrower Thorsten Melsheimer harvested grapes for ice wines.

Palatinate
The Weinkontor Edenkoben was able to harvest ice wine of the Cabernet Mitos grape variety in the night of 13 December at -9.2° Celsius. The fructose content of the grapes was 152° Öchsle, about half as much as at the beginning of the harvest at the end of August.

Rheingau
Here, ice wines were harvested at the "Meine Freiheit" vineyard and three other vineyards during the night of 16 December. According to weather forecasts, it will remain very cold in the Rheingau until Saturday, 17 December.

Rheinhessen
Ten wineries have registered with the authorities for the ice wine harvest. The Kost wine and sparkling wine house in Welgesheim was able to harvest Silvaner grapes in the night of 13 December.

Württemberg
The Fellbacher Weingärtner eG *** were able to bring in Spätburgunder grapes with a must weight of 179° Öchlse for about 1,000 bottles of ice wine on 12 December. The Beurer winery **** in Kernen-Stetten in the Remstal harvested Lemberger and Riesling grapes, the Jürgen Ellwanger winery *** around 150 litres of Kerner ice wine from the Winterbacher Hungerberg. In Weinstadt-Schnait, the first ice wine from the Piwi variety Johanniter should be available at the Hagenbüchle vineyard. At the Bernhard Ellwanger *** vineyard in Großheppach, Syrah and Cabernet Cubin grapes were on the harvest schedule.

Saxony and Saale-Unstrut
In the two north-eastern wine-growing regions, many winegrowers were able to harvest grapes for ice wines unusually early on 20 November Riesling, Traminer, Cabernet Blanc and Blauer Zweigelt.

In the Nahe wine-growing region, no vineyards were registered for ice wine production this year.
