The sparkling wine group Henkell Freixenet sells Deinhard in Koblenz to the Peter Mertes winery in Bernkastel-Kues. This was announced by the company. In Germany, the sparkling wines Deinhard Lila, Medium Dry and Cabinet are on the shelves, and the bottler Deinhard is also active internationally with its own wines. Mertes is currently the largest winery in Germany.

"The sale enables us to focus on our international and local core brands such as Freixenet, Mionetto, Henkell and Fürst von Metternich," says Dr. Andreas Brokemper, Chairman of the Management Board of Henkell Freixenet. The "Weinwirtschaft" reports that the sale was made necessary by the merger of Henkell and Freixenet in 2018.
