The record-breaking heatwave is leading to record sales of rosé wines in the UK. The retailer Majestic Wine says it sold around 172,000 more bottles of rosé than white and red wines in the week before the heat warning. That was 49 per cent more than the week before. On average, Majestic sold one bottle of rosé every 12 seconds.
According to reports in the daily newspaper "The Guardian", the discounter Aldi also sold more rosé wine there last week than on any other weekend in the past twelve months. It also recorded record sales.
