The Rhône vineyard E. Guigal has bought Domaine de Nalys, one of the oldest and most prestigious estates of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The estate was previously owned by the French insurance group Assurances Mutuelles Agricole.
The Châteauneuf-du-Pape winery, known for white wine, has 50 hectares of vineyards along the southern Rhône, where it grows 13 varieties of grapes. Philippe Guigal commented that the purchase was a "decision of the heart" for him.
Nothing has been revealed about the purchase price. Industry experts suspect that it was around 45 million euros.
