The Michelin Guide has announced the 2021 star restaurants at a digitally broadcast event. The restaurant guide awarded a total of 310 star restaurants, compared to 308 last year.

The testers have chosen the "Restaurant temporaire - Schwarzwaldstube" in Baiersbronn as the only new three-star establishment. This means that ten restaurants in Germany now belong to the highest category. Three establishments have made it into the group of two-star restaurants, which now includes 41. They are the Esplanade in Saarbrücken, the Goldberg in Fellbach and the Ösch Noir in Donaueschingen.

25 restaurants have received a star from the editors for the first time. There are now 259 establishments in this category. 26 restaurants were unable to defend their star in 2021.

The Guide Michelin awarded a total of 53 particularly sustainable restaurants with a "Green Star", 35 received this award for the first time.
