The well-known Bordeaux Château Gruaud Larose in St. Julien does not follow the trend of massive price reductions for the 2019 vintage, but has set the price for 2019 at 51.60 euros per bottle ex-Négociant, which is only 6.5 per cent cheaper than 2018. The volume of its vintage is only 20 per cent lower than 2018 - other Bordeaux Châteaux could only fill half of the previous year's volume. Bordeaux trade experts therefore assume that the château wants to use the price to create scope for individually negotiated prices at a lower level.
